Jesus is Lord, but what does that mean in our daily lives? In both the Old and New Testaments, "Lord" is a title that signifies authority, ownership, and relationship. Yet, for many, the idea of Jesus as Lord can feel distant—like a ruler behind castle walls rather than a close and present Master. In Matthew 8, the first time Jesus is called Lord in the Gospels, His response is not to stand at a distance but to reach out and touch a man in need.
